Move Over TPC Stadium Course, this is the best value in Scottsdale + Tom Watson's Dead Simple "Coat Hanger" Trick
We all know the pattern- first, you chunk a few irons. Then you over-compensate and start catching them thin. If you can’t seem to make consistent contact with your irons, the “Coat Hanger” Trick is going to be your new best friend. Hall of Famer Tom Watson shares just how you can use this standard household item below.
And we all saw the TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course on display last week, but if you want a top-tier course at 1/10 the price, check out Aguila Golf Course just a few miles away. And it’s a Muni! Plus, a statistic about driver brand choices on the PGA Tour and a piece of long drive trivia for a chance to win a Limited Edition Tyson Lamb Cactus Divot Repair Tool… 1 of only 300 tools ever made!
TIPS & DRILLS
Use Tom Watson’s “Coat Hanger Trick” to Keep Your Head Still
8-time Major Championship Winner Tom Watson explains
To Recap…
If you struggle to make consistent contact, there’s a good chance your head moves more than the bobbleheads on your desk.
-STEP 1: Bend a coat hanger into a straight line with a round hole on top, and stick the straight end of the hanger into the ground.
-STEP 2: As you take your set-up, position the ball visually in the center of the hole (and be careful to give your club enough room to swing through without hitting the coat hanger!)
-STEP 3: As you take your swing, rotate your shoulders around your spine and focus on keeping your head “dead still” to maintain the ball’s position in the center of the hole through impact.
Easy peasy… just a few thousand practice shots and you’ll be golden. 👌

STATISTICS
Stat of the Day: PGA Tour Driver Brand Choices
presented by…
The Stat: Among the most popular driver brands used on PGA Tour, Titleist owns a commanding 34% share among tour players.
The Takeaway: Given the investment by TaylorMade to sign more players, we were surprised it sits in a distant 4th place. Titleist still dominates the category.
