Quick Tip: "Hands In, Club Out" + 2025 Survey Reminder

Happy (almost) New Year! As we all rest and recharge after a great year, we’re mapping out our 2025 plans and want to hear from you! Your answers will have a HUGE impact on the newsletter content next year.

We’d be honored if you could provide your input on the 5 questions below, but first, a quick tip…

TIPS & DRILLS
To Start Your Club on Plane, Follow the “Hands In, Club Out” Model
Content Creator Jae Lee shares one of his favorite tips
To Recap…

If you start your backswing by pulling the club inside, it can lead to a world of trouble. If you can’t flip your hands over with perfect timing (and we mean PERFECT), the most likely outcome will be big blocks and slices with the driver. And if you flip your hands too much, the nasty snap hook comes out. But Jae Lee has a simple visual cue you can bring to the course:

-STEP 1: Lay an alignment stick or club on the ground parallel to your feet, about halfway between your ball and your toes.
-STEP 2: As you take the club back, keep your hands inside this alignment aid and keep your club head outside the line until your club is roughly parallel with the ground.
NOTE: It will be impossible to keep your club head outside the line as it gets above your waist. This drill is mainly targeted at the beginning takeaway portion of the swing.
-STEP 3: When you get to the top of your swing, focus on shallowing the club head to get it back on plane. The feeling most people strive for is dropping their hands to their rear pocket. Practice 5-10 slow rehearsals and slowly work your way up to faster and faster swing speeds.

ADDED BONUS: Not only does this tip fix your club path, it also helps increase your distance. How so? Instead of using all arms to square the club, this drill allows you to use your big muscles to turn and release the club through impact.

And here are those survey questions… THANKS IN ADVANCE!
